Teaching

Teachers serve to bring an understanding and knowledge of Jesus through God's Word. They use the Word to show the Truth, expose rebellion, correct mistakes, and train JELA families to live in God's way with understanding hearts.

There are three teaching roles in JELA.

TEACHING CHILDREN

Children's church teachers serve to bring children to a saving knowledge of God's grace through fun, interactive classes. They patiently answer children's questions and guide them into early discovery of who they are in Christ Jesus.

On Sunday mornings and Wednesday evenings (in hybrid online and in-person classes), the teachers teach age-appropriate engaging lessons with questions, memory verse, activities, and songs. They use an adaptation of this curriculum.

Serving as a children's church teacher requires love and patience.

Parents are encouraged to download the Bible app.

TEACHING TEENS (JESUS ACADEMY)

Jesus Academy Instructors support teens’ spiritual and personal growth and development through engaging lessons, exercises, and discussions. They guide teens in exploring and preparing for college and other career paths. Instructors work together in direct consultation with the Holy Spirit to develop topical areas for exploration in individual lessons.

Serving as a Jesus Academy Instructor requires empathy, creativity and scholarly outlook.

TEACHING ADULTS (SUNDAY SCHOOL)

RCCG Sunday School Teachers teach (in hybrid online and in-person classes) line upon line and precept using a uniform curriculum prepared for RCCG churches worldwide. The lessons are taught interactively to allow discussion of difficult or controversial doctrinal and lifestyle issues.

Serving as a Sunday School teacher requires humility of heart and a teachable spirit.
